Hot Boxing: Hot boxing allows skis to absorb a greater amount of wax than standard ironing methods by heating the skis and holding them at the melting point of the wax for a long period of time. The penetration of the wax into the base from one treatment is equivalent to up to 20 layers of wax!
- The glide zones are bushed, prepped and then a soft wax is ironed in.
- The skis are then “cooked” to allow the wax to penetrate the base,
- The ski is then cooled, scraped and brushed.
- A hardening layer of wax is then applied scraped and bushed to strengthen the base against abrasive snow. $30 tax inc.
