NTC Code of Conduct

As a member or coach of Northern Triathlon Club, you are required to know and follow our code of conduct at all times.

Member’s Code of Conduct

All members of the Northern Triathlon Club are expected, as a condition of membership, to observe this Code whether in competition or training. In addition, all members with coaching responsibilities also agree to follow the coaches’ Codes of Conducts, as described by Triathlon BC and Triathlon Canada.

Members have a responsibility to:

Practice good sportsmanship at all times.
Be responsible for the safety of self and others.
Obey traffic regulations and instructions from club coaches and race officials.
Treat other members, coaches, competitors, race officials, volunteers and spectators with respect and courtesy.
Avoid the use of abusive language.
Refrain from harassing any individual or engaging in any unwelcome visual, verbal or physical conduct: if harassment of others is observed, take appropriate intervening action. This includes references to a member’s ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical fitness level and/or appearance.
Consistently display high personal standards and project a favorable image of the sport and of the Abbotsford Triathlon Club.

AND IN COMPETITIVE RACES…

Understand the TriBC regulations and ITU Competition Rules.
If a violation occurs knowingly, report the violation to a race official, and if necessary retire promptly from the competition.
Inform race officials promptly after withdrawing from a race for any reason.

NTC Waiver

Northern Triathlon Club (NTC) requires ALL participants in club events or workouts to join Triathlon BC annually. Along with many benefits, such as race discounts and newsletters, membership through TriBC provides club insurance while training with ATC. Register online at www.tribc.org.

Please read carefully. By registering with NTC, you agree to the following:

All participants in NTC swim, run, cycle or other associated club events are required to read and abide by this waiver. Please ensure you have read this waiver carefully and understand it. By registering with NTC, you have also acknowledged your membership with Triathlon BC. Participants should take steps to thoroughly familiarize themselves with the inherent risks and conditions associated with participation in triathlon, the Northern Triathlon Club and its events. Participants will ensure their bicycles are mechanically sound and wear a hard shell helmet (ANSI approved) when cycling and exercise caution when training and participating in NTC events.

Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability:

By registering with NTC, you give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue. When participating in NTC training and events and by registering with NTC, I freely accept and fully assume all risks, damages and hazards and the possibility of personal injury, death, property or equipment damage or loss due to any cause whatsoever ,including negligence, breach of contract or breach of any statutory or duty of care. In consideration of the Northern Triathlon Club (“NTC”) accepting this membership, and recognizing the inherent risks and conditions associated with participation in NTC events, and acknowledging that it is my responsibility to ensure that I am not suffering from any physical or mental condition that may be aggravated by participation in NTC, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, waive and release any and all right for any damages of any sort I may have against NTC, its coaches, council, executive, agents ,representatives and sponsors. It is expressly understood by the adjacently signed participant that NTC is entered into at the sole risk of the adjacently signed and that NTC, its coaches, executive, agents, representatives and sponsors are exempt from liability for any and all personal or equipment loss or damages sustained and any and all injury and loss arising from any cause whatsoever, including negligence of NTC, its coaches, executive, agents, representatives and sponsors.
