RACE BRIEFING: 08:00 AM @ Isle Pierre Put In
RACE START: 09:00 AM
RACE FINISH / GPS: Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park / 10 U 517491 5972759

To facilitate organization on the race start and reduce chaos at the start line due to limited space:
• Arrange for a shuttle ride to the race start with friends / family who are cheering you on.
• Canoes will be inspected prior to race start.
• Plan to carpool early Sunday morning to the race start location, watch for signs on highway and road.

River Conditions
• Depending on water levels, the Isle Pierre Rapids and White Mud Rapids are ranked Class 2 and Class 3 (intermediate) on the international white water difficulty scale.
• In general, most of the river is rated Class I and flows through a beautiful landscape!
• In the event of extreme water flows, an announcement will be made by the race director that will require all paddlers bypass the Isle Pierre Rapids by taking a tamer route on river left of an island just downstream from the start line.

Cautionary Considerations:
• White water conditions at Isle Pierre and White Mud – moving water experience.
• Bridge abutments – steer clear of abutments
• Sweepers – some sweepers / logs may be present along shore line.

Search and Rescue
• Local Search and Rescue and Jet boat club will be present for the paddlers going through the Isle Pierre and White mud Rapids. A jet boat sweep will follow the last paddlers going down the river.

• This route follows the popular and easy float with PG tubers during the hot summer months.
• Great category for all!!

Cautionary Considerations
• Bridge abutments – steer clear of abutments
• Sweepers – some sweepers / logs may be present along shore line.

Sponsors and Sponsor Canoes
A Corporate Challenge is being encouraged. For $250-$500, corporate sponsors will be recognized by a 18”× 9” company logo affixed to the side of a canoe leading up to and during the Northern Hardware Prince George Centennial Canoe Race. Half of the sponsorship will be dedicated to local elementary school, Frozen Warriors who have long participated in the Prince George Iceman. Funds will facilitate students access to the ski facilities and equipment at Otway Nordic Centre.

RACE BBQ
• A salmon BBQ will be held for all participants, volunteers and sponsors at Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park Sunday afternoon upon completion of the race!
